Walk-in Clients
Alternatives For Girls operates a Resource Center for walk-in clients Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Any girl or young woman in crisis may walk in and sit down to discuss her situation in private.

Qualified staff will determine if a walk-in client is eligible for AFG services. If eligible for the shelter, and a bed is available, the client will be housed immediately. If beds are not available or the client is ineligible for any reason, the client will be referred to other reputable agencies.

Walk-in clients have access to a private shower and laundry facilities. They also have access to the AFG Clothes Closet, which is stocked with gently used donated clothing.

The center is stocked with pamphlets and brochures on a wide variety of subjects (e.g., pregnancy and prenatal care, HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases and suicide).

Crisis Line
The Resource Center also manages the AFG Crisis Line. Girls and young women in crisis may call (888) AFG-3919 at any time.
