To help support the mission of Alternatives For Girls, we invite you to make a financial contribution or donate needed goods or services.

Financial Contributions

Traditionally, AFG has been fortunate to receive government and private foundation grants that go a long way to defray the cost of program expenses. More is needed, however to strengthen Prevention and Outreach efforts, and to increase shelter capacity — not just today, but for the long term.

In addition to programming, AFG is challenged to obtain funding for rising operating expenses (e.g., facility maintenance and repair, snow removal and lawn care, vehicle maintenance and repair, utilities, staff payroll, office supplies and insurance, among others), which are not funded by government or most foundations. We rely on corporate support and the generosity of individual donors to sustain these areas.

Financial contributions can be made in a number of ways:

• Mail a check made payable to Alternatives For Girls to 903 West Grand Boulevard, Detroit, Michigan 48208
• Make a credit card donation by telephone by calling (313) 361-4000, ext. 230. AFG accepts VISA and MasterCard
• Make an online donation using AFG's secure web form
• If you're a Federal employee, designate a portion of your paycheck to AFG using Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) #3909
• Buy a Brick! Brick pavers like the ones featured on this page help support the mission of AFG. Pavers come in two sizes (8” X 8” or 4” X 8”). To purchase a brick paver, fill out a Brick Paver Form and return it to Alternatives For Girls with your check or credit card information
• Seek a Matching Gift from your employer and double your gift. Contact your employer’s Human Resources Department
• Make a donation to AFG in the form of securities
• Make a contribution to the AFG Endowment Fund, which is administered by the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan
• Make a provision for AFG in your will.

In-kind Contributions

Donations of goods or services also support the Alternatives For Girls mission. Some examples of goods and services needed include:
